Reduce the Size of Government

In a time when almost all businesses are shrinking, cutting back, laying off employees and even going out of business, the Government (City, State or Federal) is getting bigger and more powerful. Thomas Paine said “That government is best which governs least.”

Reduce Spending

Everybody I know has had to tighten their belt, reduce their spending and even give up “stuff” they want and need. So should the Government! Trimming excess fat, reducing spending and even eliminating “things” in the Government is no doubt the responsible and right thing to do!

Someone that will Listen, Stand up & Represent the People of Cedar City

I have a true love for this country, state and this city. Every responsible individual has an inalienable right to be heard and voice their concerns, views and opinions. I have a passion for peoples constitutional rights.  I will devote time and energy to being a sentinel and voice for Cedar City and it’s citizens.  At present, I am not fully informed about all the concerns and issues that all the people of Cedar City have. However, I learn and comprehend quickly. If you have concerns call me at 586-6821.

Reduce Impact Fees

To get a building permit in Cedar City is around $14,000. This is utterly ridiculous. This fee has many negative results: 1) Lowers, stiffens and limits construction. Thus retarding the ecomony in the biggest way. 2) Makes it harder for people, especially young couples, to work on and build their American Dream. 3) It’s simply unfair.

Get Government out of the Business of competing against other businesses in Cedar City

City Government or any Government should not be commercial landlords and business owners competing against private individuals, entities or businesses. This is unfair competition and should be eliminated.

Use the resources we have to generate revenues to cap, reduce, or even eliminate certain taxes!

Cedar City is a great place to live and visit. By promoting “sports vacations” (softball, baseball, wrestling, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis tournaments, swimming, water polo and other water events, triathlon, archery, track & field and running events) Cedar City can generate money to help pay for construction, managing and maintaining the sports venues. The biggest effect will be increasing 1) Business for small business owners 2) Collecting sales tax on what non-Cedar City residence buy thus producing tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of dollars to help run Cedar City. Thus reducing our taxes!

Stimulate business by reducing fees and taxes

For businesses this is not a new idea and has been proven time and time again. There is no doubt our federal government won’t reduce fees and taxes for businesses. However, Cedar City can be a great example to the rest of the state and nation by stimulating all businesses by reducing the cost of doing business. This ultimately increasing jobs, wages and stimulates Cedar’s economy.

Cedar City Golf Course

Continue to work with federal, state, and enviromental agencies to trap and remove prarie dogs that are on the endangered species list.  That will make the golf course esthetically pleasing. The key would be to find a way to get the prarie dogs off the endangered species list. Extending cart paths to reduce vegistration destruction and make it a high class golf course.  We need to protect the investments of the golf course,  and have a storage facility to reduce replacements and increase longevity of the carts.

2nd Ammendment Rights

I am aware that this has little to nothing to do with city council issues, but I believe in my heart that it is my right to keep and bare arms for protection, collection, sports, etc. Our government, state or federal, has absolutely no right to take my weapons away from me nor anybody else for that matter!

All of these ideas are truly “Common Sense”!
